Mr. Zuniga has thirty years of experience in civil engineering. He has Civil Engineering experience with County and City projects as well as with Construction Management. He manages and provides technical expertise on assigned projects, develops proposals, budgets and schedule and is responsible for signing and sealing projects. 

Other skills include: CADD Manager and  has served as liaison with Autodesk and Geopak . He is proficient with computer programs and software as well as in solving surface water hydraulics and hydrology issues.  Expertise with Autocad Land development and Intergraph Geopak.



Professional Experience:


Significant Projects: 

SR-5/US-1 RRR FDOT District Four, Indian River County, FL

Roadway improvements from 33rd Street to North of County Road 510 in Indian River County, approximately seven (7) and one-half miles.  In the preliminary phase of this project, a Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation Report was prepared, as were the Community Awareness and Access Management Plans.  The design phase included the milling and restoration of the existing pavement, widening, curb and gutter installation to meet current standards. Stormwater Design and Permitting was critical for this project.  The project also included signalization lighting and landscaping. 

MSTU Districts A – E Street Improvements, Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

This project involved improvements to local roads in unincorporated Palm Beach County.  Aspects of design included the development of the profile grade and horizontal alignment of the existing roads; provision for driveway access to all the dwellings along the roadways and improvement of existing and/or design of new drainage systems.  Projects included in the contract follow:  Hillside Lane, Mee Court/Fairview Street; Penn Grove Street/Filer Road/Bertha Street; and 108th Terrace/Anderson Lane/105th Avenue.  

Northlake Boulevard, Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Developed the ultimate six-lane, divided roadway section from an existing two-lane roadway section.  This included significant drainage design with off-site detention/retention ponds, and mitigation area with permitting.  Construction consisted of widening from the two-lane section to a four/five-lane divided section, with anticipation of future widening to six-lanes after right-of-way acquisition. 

2nd Avenue North, Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Widening of the existing two-lane road for the construction of the new five-lane bridge over the Keller Canal.  Drainage design and permitting for the ultimate five-lane section with right-of-way acquisition. 

Abacoa PC1 Access Roadway, Abacoa Development Company, Palm Beach County, FL

Designed a two-lane roadway to provide access to a planned school in Abacoa. This project included substantial drainage design and permitting in accordance with the approved Abacoa Master Plan.`

SR-820 (Pines Boulevard) at I-75, FDOT District Four, Broward County, FL

Interchange improvements, median modifications, and widening in the immediate vicinity of I-75, including landscape features and public involvement meetings. 

SR-A1A, FDOT District Four, St. Lucie County, FL

Realignment and widening of SR-A1A from the North Bridge Causeway to “Little Jim” Bridge. 

SR-A1A, FDOT District Four, Palm Beach County, FL

Milling, resurfacing, and widening to include a two-way left-turn lane, shoulders, and a bike path in the City of Boca Raton. 

University Drive (Palmetto Park Road to Riverside Drive), Engles Homes, Broward County, FL (1.38 miles)

Private contract two-lane road design, which included drainage design and permitting for ultimate four-lane division.

 

Palmetto Park Road (University Drive to Shorewinds Drive), Centex/Engle Homes (.80 miles)

Private contract four-lane divided road with ultimate drainage design and permitting. 

El Campeon Boulevard (Okeechobee Boulevard to Datura Street), City of West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, FL (1 mile)

Widened roadway from a two-lane section to a four-lane divided section.  Provided drainage and landscaping for this beautification project. 

Lake Ida Road (El Claire Ranch Road to Military Trail), Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL (1.38 miles)

Developed the ultimate five-lane roadway section, including drainage improvements.  Reconstructed the existing two-lane roadway section to accommodate the realignment of the roadway and the construction of a three-lane section at the ultimate location.  This project also included construction of two (2) new bridges over the LWDD L-4 Canal. 

Westgate Avenue (Military Trail to Congress Avenue), Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Developed the ultimate five-lane roadway section, including drainage improvements.  This project also included right-of-way acquisition to accommodate detention/retention ponds, and installation of water and sewer lines. 

Folsom Road (SR-80 to Okeechobee Boulevard), Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Consisted of analysis and conceptual design for three (3) alternatives for Folsom Road.  The project also consisted of the final design, which included the widening and realignment of Crestwood Boulevard to match the proposed relocation of Folsom Road.  This was a total reconstruction project that included significant drainage design and permitting. 

Prosperity Farms Road (PGA Boulevard to Donald Ross Road), Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Widening from a two-lane to a five-lane roadway section.  The project consisted of realignment and design of a new stormwater management system. 

140th Avenue N, Indian Trails Water Control District, Palm Beach County, FL

Consisted of roadway and drainage design for a two-lane roadway.

Avocado Boulevard (40th Avenue to M Canal), Indian Trails Water Control District, Palm Beach County, FL

Consisted of roadway and drainage design for a two-lane roadway. 

Persimmon Boulevard (Avocado Boulevard to Royal Palm Beach Boulevard), Indian Trails Water Control District, Palm Beach County, FL

Consisted of roadway and drainage design for a new two-lane roadway. 

El Clair Ranch Road (LWDD L-30 Canal to LWDD L-29 Canal), Oriole Holmes, Palm Beach County, FL

Roadway and drainage design and permitting of a new two-lane section of road.  Included right-of-way acquisition. 

Flavor Pict Road (Jog Road to LWDD E-3 Canal), Oriole Holmes,  Palm Beach County, FL

Roadway and drainage design and permitting for a new two-lane roadway, including right-of-way acquisition. 

Belvedere Road (Mayacoo Lakes Boulevard to Jog Road), Palm Beach County, Palm Beach County, FL

Consisted of the design of a six-lane divided roadway with drainage, a bridge over the Turnpike, realignment, and right-of-way acquisition. 

Admirality Building Phase II, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

The design of an existing site including modification of existing parking and drainage.  Also, the construction of a right-turn lane to FDOT standards on PGA Boulevard. 

Stainsafe Facility, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

An 8-acre office/warehouse facility including site development of drainage, parking, water and sewer services. 

Palm Beach Gardens Municipal Center Phase 1, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Developed a 50-acre site, including eight (8) baseball fields, a new Administration Building, a new Police Building, a new Fire Administration and Vehicle Building, all with required parking, site drainage and water and sewer services. 

La Posada Assisted Care Facility (Gardens Mall Development), Palm Beach Gardens, FL

The site design of a 22.5-acre parcel including stormwater management, site grading, water distribution and sanitary sewer collection for a 400 unit assisted care living facility. 

City Centre, Palm Beach Gardens, FL

Design of the site development facilities, including drainage, water, sewer and off-site roads.  Permitting of roadway with Palm Beach County and FDOT. 

Conniston Middle School Drainage, School District of Palm Beach County,

Updated topographic survey, preliminary drainage design and preparation of construction plans, and technical specifications to resolve drainage issues.
