Extensive rebuilding of roads, highways and bridges is currently taking place in the nation. As we expect this trend to continue in the years ahead, R.C.T. Engineering, Inc., (RCT) has positioned itself to make a major contribution to this renewal of the nation's infrastructure. We have streamlined our staff to include civil engineers with transportation engineering background to support our quest in this endeavor.

Our transportation engineering staff members work closely with our clients in the design and construction of highways and bridges.

At RCT, we use state-of-the-art computer programs to analyze and design continuous beam and girder bridges. All construction contract documents are prepared using AutoCAD or MicroStation format. Base mapping and highway plans are prepared using Total Stations, downloaded directly to the computers.

Our recent Transportation Engineering projects include analysis of the Ft. Lauderdale Airport People Mover for the City of Ft. Lauderdale 2020 Vision project, Palm Beach County's MSTU Street Improvements, the Port of Palm Beach Skypass, and traffic circulation enhancements at the Solid Waste Authority Landfill and Waste Transfer Facilities in Palm Beach County, Utility adjustments, noise abatements and maintenance of traffic for Southside/ Baymeadows interchange in Jacksonville, and a feasibility study for widening of McDuff Road in Jacksonville, Florida.

In the Pacific Northwest where traffic is one of the primary public concerns, RCT has conducted conceptual design work as part of the Mercer Island I-90 HOV Lane Off-Ramp project along the Interstate 90 corridor to determine the feasibility of re-channelizing traffic to create an additional High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane for Sound Transit, the regional Transit authority.
